• Aspect built into the verb stem — Greek verbs have separate stems for ongoing and completed action, so the difference is baked into the word rather than added with a tense.
• No infinitive — Modern Greek lost the infinitive and uses να with a conjugated verb instead, so "I want to go" comes out as "I want that I go".
• Stress placement changes meaning — The written accent is not decorative: πότε means when and ποτέ means never. Misplacing stress can produce a different word.
• Three genders with full agreement — Articles and adjectives match nouns in gender, number and case, giving each adjective a large table of forms.
